Shortly after 9:00 pm on Saturday night Lawrence County deputies patrolling near the Lawrence/Craighead line noticed a large wild land fire in the area. Lawrence County dispatch was notified by deputies. Hoxie fire department was paged along with Sedgwick Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry. Crews from Craighead county also responded to the area along with Bono and Cash Fire Departments.
Lawrence county deputies along with Arkansas State Police are assisting with traffic in the area. Everyone is asked to avoid this area if possible. Crews are working in the area of Hwy 91 at Egypt.
Miscanthus is grown and used in bio fuels and burns easily.
