A Greene County family has filed a lawsuit in the death of Kelsey Cox, the family claims the company was negligent. According to the mother, in April 2017 Kelsey was being transported from Paragould to a mental facility in Little Rock when she jumped from the ambulance while traveling on U.S. 67 in White County. Kelsey died from her injuries, the lawsuit states that AET Ambulance failed “to properly hire, train, supervise, and retain competent and qualified personnel to assure that Kelsey Cox, deceased, received adequate care, treatment, and services.”. The family is asking for 5 million dollars in the suit.
The suit goes on to say that AET Ambulance did not properly restrain their daughter even after knowing the patient was suffering from a mental illness. Other news sources are saying that the owner of Arkansas Excellent Transport of Walnut Ridge and Imboden, Mr. Wendell Jones has not received a copy of the suit and therefore can not comment on any pending legal matters.
