Shortly after 2 pm on Thursday, Chief Tim McComas of the Ravenden Police Department reported an accident on 1st Street in Ravenden near the Church of Christ to the Lawrence County Dispatch Center requesting the Ravenden Volunteer Fire Department, AET Ambulance and a medical helicopter.
Ravenden firefighters responded as a helicopter from Survival Flight was lifting from it’s Pocahontas base. Early reports stated there were 2 injured, a 72 year old female and a 47 year old male.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies also responded to assist firefighters with setting up a landing zone near Dail’s Wrecker Service in Ravenden. The female was moved from the wreck scene to the landing zone and taken by Survival Flight to an area hospital. A second ambulance transported the 47 year old male to a Jonesboro hospital.
The accident is being investigated by the Ravenden Police Department, names of those involved have not been released.
