At 6:30 on Tuesday the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received several calls reporting a black SUV driving reckless in the area of Lawrence 201 just outside Imboden. The caller advised the vehicle would stop in the roadway and then leave at a high rate of speed, spinning tires and throwing gravel. Witnesses reported the driver suspecting by his actions that he may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Lawrence County Deputies were notified and were responding to the area when at 6:43 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received another call reporting that the vehicle had wrecked after failing to negotiate a curve driving at a high rate of speed.
Witnesses on scene were able to remove the subject unharmed from the wreckage. Deputies from Lawrence County arrived on scene shortly after and began their investigation. The subject was identified by witnesses as Dusten Haynes of Black Rock, several witnesses to his driving were on scene cooperating with law enforcement.
Officers administered a field sobriety test which the individual passed as the investigation into the accident was conducted.
The driver was cited for Hazardous Driving, deputies gave the subject a ride home.
Damage to the vehicle was extensive, there was also damage to the property owners fence. No injuries were reported in the incident.
