Around 7:20 pm on Saturday a Walnut Ridge Patrolman attempting to make a routine traffic stop on a motorcycle found himself in the middle of a high speed chase that began in Walnut Ridge and ended in Hoxie.
The rider fled Walnut Ridge and entered Hoxie at a high rate of speed, the officer at one point slowed down fearing the chase was too dangerous in such a populated area but maintained a visual of the suspect as he tried to evade the officer on the streets of Walnut Ridge and Hoxie. The Walnut Ridge Officer notified other officers in the area of the suspects location. Hoxie Police and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were converging on the area when the Walnut Ridge Officer radioed Lawrence County Dispatch that the suspect had wrecked the motorcycle on Morrison Street near Midway Road. The officer then requested first responders and medical units to the scene. Hoxie Fire Department along with AET Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
The suspect identified as Dillon McIntire suffered only minor injuries. As the officer searched the suspect, it was discovered he had Meth in his possession. McIntire was arrested after being checked by medics and transported to the Lawrence County Jail, he will face charges of Possession of Meth, Fleeing, Reckless Driving, Driving on Suspended and 3 counts of Failure to Obey Traffic Control Devices.
