DNA is being used to identify the victims in a horrific December 21st car crash on Hwy 63 by the Arkansas State Police and Arkansas Crime Lab.
Two of the three victims have been identified using DNA while a third has yet to be identified according to the Arkansas State Police and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
Information that is known at this time is as follows: The two drivers in the fatal accident have been identified as Tammy Jones, 51 years old of Walnut Ridge and Sam Vance 63 of Sedgwick. Both victims were positively identified by DNA. A third victim, a passenger on the Sam Vance vehicle has yet to be identified, the unidentified female victim is believed to be from another state further causing a delay in the identification.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the accident happened around 4:30 on December 21st when a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Tammy Jones was traveling north on Hwy 63 when it crossed the centerline and struck a 2016 Dodge driven by Sam Vance head on killing all three involved.
