Shortly after 7 am on Saturday the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting smoke being seen coming from a shop building on the edge of town in Imboden.
Imboden Volunteer Fire Department was paged to the large shop building just off Hwy 63 at the southern end of town. Smoke and steam could be seen rising from the building belonging to Gordon Hickman.
Imboden responded with two engines and requested assistance from Ravenden and Black Rock Fire Departments. By 7:30 am all three fire departments were on scene and the initial fire was knocked down.
Black Rock was released from the scene shortly after 8 am, Imboden remained on scene. Entergy was requested to the scene to disconnect the power. The cause of the fire is not known at this time, no injuries were reported in the fire.
