Shortly after 7 pm on Saturday night the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a large barn on fire on Hwy 25 near the Strawberry River, the caller stated the structure was completely engulfed in flames.

Strawberry Fire Department was paged to the scene, once on scene they immediately requested the assistance of the Lynn Fire Department. Lynn responded with several trucks and firefighters.

Once on scene firefighters were faced with a massive fire that included over 250 round bales of hay and the structure. Strawberry Fire was on scene until after 2 am cooling the smoldering fire and protecting utility poles in the area of the fire.

Lawrence County Deputies responded to the blaze, once on scene the Criminal Investigation Division was requested to investigate what is being described as “suspicious”.
