WBC Homecoming is Saturday, November 5, at Williams Baptist College, with alumni and other friends of the college making their way to campus for a day of reunions and activities. The festivities will also mark the culmination of WBC’s 75th anniversary celebration, which has been taking place through 2016.

Williams will honor three alumni Saturday. James Costner of Nashville, Tenn., will be presented this year’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. Costner, a 1963 WBC alum, was senior vice president of the Property Practice, Willis North America. He has been quoted as a property insurance expert by The Wall Street Journal, Business Insurance, The National Underwriter, Risk Management, Claims Magazine and The Risk Report.

Bobo and Amber Newton of Tulsa, Okla., will be honored as this year’s Outstanding Young Alumni. Bobo, a 2005 graduate, is chief operating officer and vice president at Kubota Construction Equipment of Tulsa. Amber, an ‘03 alum, does marriage and family counseling at New Beginnings Church, as well as volunteering at Crisis Pregnancy Outreach in Tulsa.

The alumni awards will be presented at the Diamond Anniversary Celebration, which begins at 2:00 p.m. in Manley Chapel. The event will also feature performances by the Williams Singers and The Cast drama team, as well as a presentation on the history of the college, recognition of the Phi Beta Lambda business society, and a formal dedication of Midkiff Meadows.

Among the many other events slated for the day, the Lady Eagles volleyball squad will take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy at 12:00 p.m. in the Southerland-Mabee Center.

The Eagle’s basketball squad takes the court at 3:30 in the SMC, facing Hendrix College. The Homecoming court and coronation will be presented at halftime of the game, as well as recognition of the softball and wrestling teams for their accomplishments in the 2015-16 season.

The day will conclude with the Theatre Department’s production of “Our Town,” which is set for a 7:00 p.m. curtain call in the Old Chapel.

WBC’s Spirit Store, Felix Goodson Library, and the Maddox Center Art Gallery will also be open throughout the day.

The day has a full lineup of reunions, including Greek Club, Business Department, the class of 1991 (25 years) and the class of 2006 (10 years), as well as Golden Eagles from the classes of 1967 and before.
