Lance Derrick Mason, 42, passed away on October 31, 2016.
Lance was born on October 18, 1974 in Pocahontas, AR to Bill and Linda Robinson Mason and a lifetime resident of Randolph County. He loved his family, farming and watching his kids play sports. He was a member of Old Reyno Free Will Baptist Church and attended Pocahontas First United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Biggers-Reyno High school and Williams Baptist College. He was a teacher and coach at Swifton, Biggers-Reyno, and Corning High Schools before starting his farming career. He was married on July 29, 2000 to Stephanie Jones. He was the father of two sons, the light of his life, to whom he was devoted and they to him. In 2007, Lance was given the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of being a full time farmer. Other than his boys, nothing gave him more joy and pride than producing a successful crop year after year.
He was preceded in death by sister, Mia Mason; grandparents, Loren and Jessie Robinson, and Myrtle Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Jones Mason; sons Robinson and William Mason of the home; parents, Bill and Linda Mason of Reyno; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Steve and Rebecca Jones of Imboden.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 5-8 pm at McNabb Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10 am at Pocahontas First United Methodist Church with Dr. Rockey Starnes officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery in Reyno.
