Dale Dean Freeman, 75 of Powhatan, passed from this life on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock.
Born March 14, 1941 in Poughkeepsie, son of Theodore and Opal Bettis Freeman. Dale was a graduate of Southern Baptist College and later in life retired from Burlington Northern Railroad after 36 years of service. He was a mayor of Portia for many years, He had a passion for politics, but his greatest passion in life was to be Lawrence County Judge. He was elected in 2010 and was currently serving at the time of his death, He loved his job but most of all loved helping people.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather (Pops). He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Boyce R and Keith Freeman.
Dale is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; three daughters, Tonya (Alan) Brand of Walnut Ridge, Candi (Albert) Yarbro of Powhatan and Michelle (Andy) Boots of Jonesboro; one son, Jeff (Toni Ann) Reese of Powhatan; four grandchildren, Levi Yarbro, Parker Brand, Emma Grace Yarbro and Andrew Boots; one sister, Patricia Mosher of Jacksonville; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 2PM in the Manley Chapel at Williams Baptist College with Bro. Roger Brand and Bro. Rick Hart officiating. Pallbearers will be Alan Brand, Jeff Reese, Andy Boots, Ben Morgan, Albert and Levi Yarbro. Honorary Pallbearers are all of the people of Lawrence County. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 P.M. till 8 P.M. Tuesday evening in the Manley Chapel at WBC.
