At 2:05 am on Saturday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a single vehicle accident just outside Imboden towards Ravenden on Hwy 63. Within minutes Imboden Firefighters along with their Rescue 4 truck were headed toward the scene.
At 2:11 am a unit from the Ravenden Police Department was on scene to assist. Reports from the scene indicated that one fatality was involved in the accident. The Lawrence County Coroner was notified and in route to the accident. Firefighters assisted with traffic as the coroner was requested to the scene. Traffic remained flowing, sometimes only one lane at a time but flowing.
The accident was investigated by the Arkansas State Police who arrived on scene at 2:42 am. No word as to the cause of the accident or identity of the victim at this time.
Firefighters were on scene for quite sometime as the investigation was concluded and the wreckage was removed.
UPDATE:Â Arkansas State Police released the victim was Ernest Franke of Thayer, reports indicate he lost control traveling north on Hwy 63 and was thrown from the vehicle after hitting a tree, roadway conditions were wet at the time of the accident.
