The City of Walnut Ridge is reporting what is described as a “record for building permits” on Monday. According to a post from the City of Walnut Ridge Facebook page some 4 commercial permits and 14 residential permits have been applied for and are in different stages of construction in the city.

With such additions under construction like the future Taco Bell and Tractor Supply, Walnut Ridge and Lawrence County are sure to benefit from the future tax basis from these and other businesses.

Today the total estimated construction in Walnut Ridge is estimated at nearly 4 Million Dollars and more permits are expected in the near future.

Additional revenue is expected from an Alcohol Permit for a Private Club awarded to Main Street Pizza in Walnut Ridge will also add to the growing total.

Construction will soon begin on the new Lawrence County Jail in Walnut Ridge as well, creating jobs in not only construction but also growth in the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

Growth is not only seen in Walnut Ridge but continued growth in the county, Imboden has several new businesses scheduled to open this year as well.

Continued additions to the Hwy 63 construction and the completion of the Hwy 67 project are sure to add even more prospective businesses and residential construction to our county.

Growth can be seen all around Lawrence County from new additions to Williams Baptist College to improvements to the Walnut Ridge Regional Airport to new businesses being announced in Hoxie, Walnut Ridge and Imboden. Lawrence County shows positive signs of economic growth.
