On June 7th at 4:00 am Jackson County Deputies responded to an accident on Hwy 14 just outside Amagon Arkansas. Upon arrival officers made contact with Donovan Jones, 30 years old of Smithville. During the investigation a pat down of Jones turned up a syringe, Jones then fled from deputies on foot and was caught moments later.

A thorough search of Jones turned up 28 grams of Meth ICE, 8 grams of marijuana, 2 syringes and digital scales. Jones was also found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle from Paragould, Jones was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail.

On Wednesday June 8th Jones was brought before a judge and formally charged with Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Theft By Receiving, Felony Fleeing on Foot and Resisting Arrest. Jones was also still on Active Parole when the crimes were committed. Jones Bond was set at $70,000 and he has a June 22nd court appearance.
