On May 11, 2016 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jarrod Burroughs 19 and Brandon Cardwell 18, both of Black Rock, for aggravated robbery.
The arrests stem from a joint investigation by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, the Arkansas State Police and the Black Rock Police Department into an armed robbery that occurred in Strawberry Friday night.
On May 6, 2016 a man entered the Strawberry Superstop carrying an assault style weapon and ordered the cashier to give him the money from the cash register. A description of the getaway vehicle was given and officers with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, the Arkansas State Police and the Hoxie Police Department began searching for the suspect vehicle with no results. Acting on information gathered during the investigation both Burroughs and Cardwell were brought in for questioning and later arrested.
Both men are being held at the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
