The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department recently hosted a week and a half long training course for jail personnel. Students from Greene, Clay and Lawrence Counties participated. The 56 hour class consisted of training in jail standards, constitutional law, defensive tactics and several other subjects pertinent to the role of detention officer. The class began on March 21 with students graduating on March 30. Sergeant Jamie White LCSO, Detective Andrew Turner LCSO, Special Agent Creston Hutton ASP, Deputy Prosecutor Ryan Cooper Third Judicial Prosecutor’s Office, Joe Chappell Black River EMS Program and Anthony Hawkins Arkansas Game and Fish instructed the students in the various areas of study.
