The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several acts of vandalism the occurred in Portia and Sedgwick last night. About 6:30 this morning the Lawrence County Communications Center started receiving calls of vehicle windows shattered. The calls began with complaints from residents in Hoxie and Walnut Ridge. Shortly after 7:00 a.m., calls from Portia and Sedgwick were received. 7 reports were taken in Portia and 2 reports in Sedgwick.

Lawrence County Deputies taking the reports determined that the vehicle windows appeared to have been damaged by a small projectile, possible from a BB gun. The damaged vehicles were parked in close proximity to streets and appears the suspects were driving from area to area randomly picking windows. No items were discovered missing and we do not believe it was the suspects intentions to steal anything.

Our agency is asking for anyone with information to contact the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at (870) 886-2525.
