March 14th, 2016 is the deadline for anyone having an outstanding warrant from any agency in Lawrence County (Walnut Ridge, Hoxie, Ravenden, Black Rock or Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office) to either pay the warrant of have the warrant served on them. This is an effort to clear old outstanding warrants.
Anyone who turns themselves in before the deadline passes will just be issued a court date and not taken to jail. Chief Chris Kirksey stated on the Walnut Ridge Police Department Facebook Page that those who choose not to pay or be served by the deadline will have their names and the charges published in local newspapers and on the WRPD Facebook Page.
If you have any questions you are urged to contact the Walnut Ridge Police Department at 870-886-3568 or the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 970-886-2525.
Chief Kirksey added if you have or know anyone who has an outstanding warrant it would be in that persons best interest to take care of this before the deadline.
