Roger Baldridge of Ravenden was arrested yesterday by the Ravenden Police with assistance from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police.

The incident took place after the Ravenden Police attempted to do a welfare check on the wife of Roger Baldridge. According to reports around 10 am Ravenden Chief Tim McComas was on his way to check on the female when a 911 call came in reporting a kidnapping. The call came from the Randolph County dispatch stating the woman was being held against her will in a vehicle. Officers made contact with the suspect by phone who stated he was outside of town and everything was fine.

Officers instructed the suspect to return with the female victim, the suspect agreed and met police. Baldridge was arrested and the victim was found unharmed. Interviews conducted revealed that Baldridge had a weapon but threw it out of the vehicle while returning to meet officers.

According to reports Baldridge faces several charges including kidnapping and terroristic threating. Baldridge was transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing and court date.
