Sgt. Jamie White with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has confirmed that wanted suspected arsonist Donnie Owens has been captured in Fulton County Kentucky. Owens was attempting to break into a residence, according to authorities Owens fled the scene and after a short pursuit he attempted to escapee by jumping into the Mississippi River, the attempt failed.
Owens will face charges in Fulton County Kentucky and in Lawrence County Arkansas. No word on when he will be extradited back to Lawrence County to face formal charges. Owens allegedly set fire to his girlfriends home on Lawrence 269 in Lynn after he assaulted her, he then stole a vehicle from a nearby residence before fleeing the state. Authorities from Lawrence County tracked Owens through parts of Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky informing law enforcement to be on the lookout in areas he was known to frequent.
