At 11:52 am on Thursday the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department was paged to the 500 block of West 2nd Street after reports of a gas leak at a residence there. According to the Lawrence County Dispatch, a male subject identified as Rick Duncan was at the residence and had caused damage to the gas line. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene after it was reported the male subject appeared to be intoxicated and was still in the area.

At 11:56 am the Imboden Fire Department was on scene with it’s Engine 6 and notified dispatch to have the gas company respond to the gas leak. The suspect was said to still be on scene and was detained by the fire department until the deputy could arrive.

Representatives from the gas company arrived on scene and were able to secure the leak, Imboden Fire Department was on scene until 12:30. No injuries were reported, Duncan was transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await formal charges.
