At 12:50 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle rollover accident with injuries on Hwy 25 just outside Saffell. Lawrence County Dispatch paged the Saffell Volunteer Fire Department, AET Ambulance and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies to the scene.
Initial reports from the scene stated that one victim was out of the vehicle but injured and another was still trapped inn the vehicle and also injured. Lynn Fire Department was paged and sent to the scene with it’s rescue truck and extrication equipment. Two medical helicopters were requested by medics to respond to the scene.
Saffell responders arrived on scene shortly, Lynn was on scene and assisted with removing the victim from the vehicle. Two medical helicopters landed in the area, patients were transferred from the ambulance to the awaiting helicopters. One victim was said to be flown to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, a second victim was flown to a hospital in Memphis.
Names of the injured have not been released, the accident is being investigated by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police.
