At 3:43 pm on Saturday the Lawrence County Dispatch was notified of a three vehicle accident at the intersection of Elm and Hwy 63 by an Arkansas State Police Trooper. Initial reports indicated one victim was injured with head injuries.
Ravenden Fire Department, Ravenden Police and AET Ambulance were all notified and responded to the accident. AET Ambulance requested a medical helicopter from Survival Flight after responders on scene described the injuries, a helicopter was requested and launched in route to Ravenden. Fire fighters set up a landing zone and assisted with the landing zone as well as loading the victim that was transferred from the ambulance to the helicopter.
The injured victim was flown to a hospital in Memphis, identity and extent of injuries is unknown. Firefighters were on scene for over an hour as the wrecked vehicles were removed from the scene.
