Custom-Pak Receives $102,632 from Entergy Arkansas for Saving Energy
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Energy efficiency incentives from Entergy Arkansas, Inc. are helping Custom-Pak save money by reducing the amount of electricity required for operation.

“Entergy Arkansas offered Custom-Pak a financial incentive to upgrade our facility, and it turned out to be a really good opportunity for us,” said Billy Cullum, Custom-Pak Facility Operations Manager. “We employ 150 people and we have been actively engaged in the community for 20 years. The money we’re saving on energy can be re-invested in our business, boosting the economy of this area. On top of that, these changes are good for the environment, which is very important to Custom-Pak and our customers.”

Participating in Entergy’s large commercial and industrial program resulted in $102,632 in incentives and saved about 684 thousand kWh of energy annually. That is equivalent to avoiding 472 tons of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere or removing 99 vehicles from our roadways. The project scope included the purchase of a new chiller that eliminated the use of two less efficient existing chillers. This will save the company an estimated $38,000 in annual electrical cost.

“Taking steps to be more energy efficient helps not only Custom-Pak bottom line, but all Entergy Arkansas customers by reducing the overall demand for electricity,” said David Burnette, Entergy Arkansas’ customer service representative in Walnut Ridge. “Entergy customers who’ve participated in our energy efficiency programs have helped us defer the need for one 500 MW power plant,” said Burnette.
