At 11:42 pm on Tuesday night the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a resident in a cabin near the Spring River just behind Plectron Drive in Imboden, the cabin elevated by stilts had approximately 2-3 feet of river water running under the structure from the flooding trapping the victim.

Imboden Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dive Team and Lawrence County Deputies were all dispatched to the scene. The residence is located just across the railroad tracks and responders were moving equipment across the tracks, Fire Chief Jim Jones had all trains stopped to ensure the safety of all involved.

Within minutes the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dive Team launched a boat with the assistance of firefighters. The male victim was loaded into the boat and brought safely to dry ground. As the rescue was taking place the river was rising rapidly and reportedly would rise another 3-4 feet before cresting. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
