Shortly before 8 pm on Sunday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call from a group of juveniles lost in the woods outside of Black Rock. Black Rock Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services all responded to the Black Rock Fire Department to stage for a search.
Dispatchers were able to ping the cell phone and find a location across the railroad tracks just outside the city limits. Responders traveled to the area and a deputy turned on his siren to see if the lost juveniles could hear it, the juveniles were in contact with the dispatch by phone. Dispatchers instructed the lost subjects to walk towards the sound, Lawrence County Deputies assisted by the Black Rock Fire Department made contact with four juveniles ranging from 12 to 16 years old, the four had became lost after trailing a deer that had been shot during their hunt.
