Pocahontas Police Department announced the arrest of a Imboden man and his pregnant girlfriend in connection to a robbery at a local pizza joint. According to police, a manager at the Pizza Hut in Pocahontas that was robbed in June.The suspect stole cash from the manager as she left the restaurant.

The manager, 19-year-old Cheyanne Manning, of Pocahontas, said she was walking out of the back door when a person she claimed “she had never saw before” demanded she give him the money. The suspect ran away with the cash. During the course of the investigation, police identified 24-year-old Colton Broadwater, of Imboden, as a possible suspect. Several witnesses told Pocahontas Police that Broadwater asked several employees for help in robbing the store.

One employee told officers Broadwater offered her money if she helped him with the crime according to reports. After the robbery, another store employee overheard Broadwater saying ‘I don’t know who robbed Pizza Hut’ and laughing about it.” Manning at first denied knowing Broadwater’s involvement in the robbery, but later admitted that she recognized him during the robbery. She told police she was not involved in the robbery other than “not telling the police the truth about who was responsible.” Another witness told police Broadwater contacted her wanting a ride the night of the robbery.During the car ride, she claimed Broadwater admitted to the robbery.The woman told police Broadwater showed her the money and “told her not to tell or he would she was involved.”That woman was not arrested.

Police did arrest and charge Manning with hindering apprehension or prosecution. Broadwater was arrested and charged with robbery and theft of property.

Manning’s bond was set at $2,500. Broadwater’s bond was set at $25,000. He’s also in jail on a parole hold. Broadwater has several convictions including Commercial Burglary, Possession With Intent To Deliver and multiple Theft Of Property convictions.
