Viola Belle Callahan Meadows, 89 of Black Rock, died Saturday, July 04, 2015 at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born September 26, 1925 to Homer Callahan and Lillie Robins Callahan. She was a retired Teacher. Originally from Clover Bend she was a Fulbright Scholar to India and Japan. After marrying her husband in 1957 she and her husband, Howard lived in Libya, The Sudan, Nigeria and Afghanistan before returning to the United States in 1974.She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Franklin Callahan, Charles Lindburgh(Lindy); sister, Rosemary Callahan.
She is survived by husband, Howard W. Meadows of the home; son, Matthew Meadows; daughter, Mary Pyburn(Richard); grandchildren, Ariana Hubbell, Andrew Pyburn.
Memorial service will be Thursday July 16, 2015, 6:00 p.m. at Clover Bend Historical Preservation Project.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
