At 5:12 pm on Sunday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a semi truck was overturned at the Rest Area on Hwy 63 just north of Black Rock. Black Rock Fire Department, AET Ambulance of Imboden, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies and Lawrence County Office Of Emergency Services were all paged to the scene.
Responders arrived on scene to find neither of the two occupants of the semi truck were injured. The truck was loaded with 41,000 pounds of frozen Lasagna, Dail’s Wrecker Service of Ravenden was dispatched to the accident, the truck was overturned in the entrance road to the Rest Area. Traffic on Hwy 63 was not delayed due to the accident.
The health department was notified by dispatch, a refrigerated truck was brought in by Dail’s Wrecker to offload the frozen food into. Crews were on scene for hours at the accident scene.
