Lawrence County Criminal Investigators have charged Megan Martin of Alicia with Domestic Battery 1st Degree and (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 1st Degree, all felony charges.
The investigation began after a 9 month old male was taken to St. Bernard’s Hospital with an injury to left leg, the child was transferred to Lebohonheur’s Hospital in Memphis and determined by medical professionals that the child had a femur facture. An officer with the Crimes Against Children Division made a home visit to the residence located on Lawrence 730 in Alicia and discovered a 2 year old female child with severe burns to her feet. The child was taken for a medical exam which determined the burns were immersion burns.
Investigators stated the description of the heater was not consistent with the injuries to the 2 year old.
