On Sunday night around 9:40 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch was notified of a missing man possibly traveling toward Lawrence County.
The dispatch alerted officers from Lawrence County and Hoxie Police that the 71 year old male had been missing from Union City for two weeks and his phone was pinged in Jackson County on Hwy 67 headed towards Hoxie. Officers converged on the area of travel in hopes of making contact with the subject who was described as having dementia.
Moments later the dispatch center relayed information that the most recent ping showed the subject entering the Hoxie city limits. Hoxie and Lawrence County units made contact with the 2013 vehicle that the subject was driving at Free Street in Hoxie and stopped the vehicle. An ambulance was requested to check the subject, Medic One was dispatched to the scene at 10 pm.
The subject was taken along with his vehicle to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office by Hoxie officers to make contact with his family.
