The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a threat reported at a Kum-N-Go gas station in Rogers Arkansas. The Arkansas Department Of Emergency Management sent out unclassified notices to each of it’s counties.
The treat stated that a Rogers Officer would be harmed on New Years Eve and was signed “MS-13â€. Sheriff Tony Waldrupe of the Lawrence County Sheriffs Office was notified along with his officers by the Lawrence County Office Of Emergency Service. MS-13 is a gang that originated in Los Angeles but has spread all across the county. No confirmation if the threat actually came from the infamous gang, Benton County investigators are still investigating.
Threats from across the county have developed after the incidents in Ferguson Missouri, New York City and Cleveland Ohio shootings involving police. Warnings have been generated to not only police but also Fire and OES concerning possible acts of violence against them in certain areas, todays notice is the first statewide notice in Arkansas since the incidents in Ferguson, Cleveland and New York.
