After traveling about a mile down river, officers discovered the dog on the banks of the Black River with it’s foot in a beaver trap. Officers took a rope and detained the animal while removing the trap from the animals foot. The dog seemed to be uninjured and was released after the trap was removed. It was not known who the dog belonged to.
