Former District Court Probation Officer Megan Price of Smithville has been arrested and booked into the Lawrence County Jail. Price was arrested after a Bench Warrant was issued for her arrest. Details of the warrant have not been released at this time.
Megan Price was hired by Lawrence County in July 2013 to work as a full time probation officer for the District Court. Her hiring was approved by the Quorum Court on July 10th 2013 and began working for the court immediately. Price who’s duties included collecting probation fees and documenting those funds only worked for the Lawrence County District Court for a short term before leaving and working for the District Court in Randolph County. Price’s reason for leaving Lawrence County has not been disclosed, Price also left the District Court Probation Officer position in Randolph County recently. Once again, Price’s reason for leaving this position has not been disclosed at this time.
