Shortly after 4 pm on Saturday, the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Officers were notified by the Lawrence County Dispatch of a one vehicle accident on Hwy 115 at the curve by the gym.
Firefighters arrived to find a heavily damaged vehicle at the scene. According to reports the suspect identified at Gregory Allen Ragsdell of Old Union Road, Imboden (Randolph County) fled the scene and ran through the woods. It was believed that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol thus the reason for fleeing. Deputies searched the area for the suspect but never found him.
At 6:32 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received a call reporting a sighting of the suspect walking on Hwy 115 toward Imboden. Deputies were again dispatched to the area in an effort to find to suspect. It is not known if the suspect was injured in the wreck.
The suspect is described as 5’11 white male, hazel eyes and red or auburn hair. The vehicle was towed from the scene.The suspect will be charged for several offenses.

Update from Sheriff Dotson: The suspect in the accident turned himself in shortly after 10 am this morning, he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving, a November 14th court date was set, he was released after he was cited.
