At 2:09 am the Walnut Ridge Police, Walnut Ridge Fire, Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services and a medical unit were paged to respond to a semi wreck at the Hwy 63 and Hwy 67 intersection.
Units arrive to find then semi off the side of the 63 on ramp, the driver was injured and still inside the truck. Walnut Ridge Fire arrived on scene and removed the driver who was transported to an area hospital with injuries.
The truck was carrying milk and the tank had leaked several thousand gallons of the milk and approximately 100 gallons of diesel onto the ground. The Arkansas Department of Emergency Services was notified as was ADEQ, these departments notified a clean up crew for the spill.
Cook’s Wrecker Service was called to the scene to remove the truck and trailer which took several hours. The driver of the truck was not identified and the extent of injuries was not known but officers stated he was alert and talking when they arrived. The truck was registered to a leasing company from Cabool Missouri.
