Shortly after 3 pm on Friday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident with the vehicle in a body of water. Hoxie Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies, Arkansas State Police and an ambulance were all dispatched to accident on Hwy 67 between Minturn and Alicia.
A motorist stopped and helped rescue the female driver from the vehicle according to reports. The vehicle was submerged in the water and was recovered by Cook’s Wrecker Service.
The extent of the driver’s injuries were unknown but initial reports were minor injuries. The accident was investigated by both the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police.
