Although Hwy 67 is still closed, cleanup from the deadly train crash in Hoxie is well underway. The last of the local fire departments were allowed to leave the scene today.
The Arkansas Highway Department still has the roadway closed and it will remain closed for several more days. Today ImbodenLive toured the site along with Sheriff Jody Dotson and the Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services. All the cars that could still roll have been placed back on the track and taken away, only the most severely damaged remained and they are being cut apart and loaded on scrap cars.
Sheriff Dotson had his Mobile Command Center taken from the scene, a good sign that things are well on their way back to normal. Investigators from the NTSB were on scene today along with Railroad Investigators gathering any information they could.
We will continue to update the public on when the Highway may open back up.
