Shortly after 4 am on Tuesday, Smithville Volunteer Fire Department was paged to a “Fully Engulfed†structure fire on Lawrence 273 just outside town. Smithville immediately requested mutual aid from both the Lynn Fire Department and Imboden Fire Department.
Unit from all three departments converged on the blaze, including a tanker truck from the Lynn Volunteer Fire Department. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, there were no injuries reported. The Smithville Fire Department released the other departments shortly before 6 am, Smithville remained on scene until 7:15 am.
