Charlene Clara Clark of St. Joseph Street in Black Rock was killed during Thursday’s storm after a tree on the Black Rock School Campus fell and crushed the vehicle she was sitting in. Clark was parked on the street when the storms and high winds hit the area causing the large tree to break and strike the victims vehicle.
The Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a tree had fallen on a vehicle outside the Black Rock School, the Black Rock Fire Department, Black Rock Police, Arkansas State Police and Walnut Ridge Fire Department were dispatched to the scene along with medical units. Once on scene firefighters worked to remove the tree off the vehicle, the victim was removed from the vehicle, she was pronounced dead. The accident is being investigated by the Black Rock Police Department and the Arkansas State Police.
