Preferential Primary Election, Nonpartisan Election – May,20,2014

Today is election day in Lawrence County. Voters will be casting ballots in the primary election, Democrat/Republican, and in the Judicial election.

Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. We urge everyone to get out and vote!

Democratic ballot
Statewide race on the Democratic ballot for governor-Mike Ross and Lynette “Doc” Bryant.

County races on the Democratic ballot.
County judge – incumbent Dale Freeman and John Thomison.
Sheriff – Jeff Yates and Joseph Allen Warnick.
Justice of the peace, position 2 – Coty Powers and incumbent Donald Richey.
Justice of the peace, position 9 – Kendell Snedeker and incumbent Alex A. Latham.

Republican ballot
There are several statewide races on the Republican ballot.
There are no contested county races in the primary.
Governor – Curtis Coleman and Asa Hutchinson.
Lieutenant Governor – Representative Debra Hobbs, Congressman Tim Griffin and State Rep. Andy Mayberry.
Attorney General – Leslie Rutledge, David Sterling, Patricia Nation.
State Treasurer – Circuit Clerk Dennis Milligan and Representative Duncan Baird.
Auditor of State – Representative Andrea Lea and Ken Yang.

Non-Partisan Judicial
Both Democratic and Republican ballots contain one Non-Partisan Judicial race for State Supreme Court Associate Justice, Position 2, between Tim Cullen and Court of Appeals Judge Robin Wynne.

Unopposed candidates
Ballots contain a large listing of unopposed candidates who can be voted “For” as a block.
