Pocahontas Police Chief Cecil Tacket and Lt. Jesse Luffman were both injured in a high speed pursuit in Randolph County toady, both are listed in stable condition. The two were injured when the vehicle they were in flipped during the chase according to sources.
Around 1:30 pm a Pocahontas Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle, instead of stopping the vehicle fled leading officers on a high speed pursuit through the city and into the county. During the pursuit the Chevy Tahoe that Tackett and Luffman were in flipped on Old County Road.
The suspect later ditched his vehicle and fled on foot, a K9 Team from the Arkansas Department Of Corrections has been brought in to assist. The Arkansas State Police and Randolph County Sheriff’s Office are also assisting in the search.
Update: One suspect surrendered and the other was captured in Greene County.
