Shortly after 9 pm on Saturday night, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a motorcycle had been struck by a deer. The Black Rock Fire Department, AET Ambulance, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Black Rock Police were all notified that the accident was on Hwy 25 just past the Black River Bridge.
Units responded from both directions, the Black Rock Police found the accident and two injured riders at 9:04 pm. Black Rock Firefighters and Police began assessing the patients injuries. Lawrence County Deputies arrived on scene and diverted traffic while the medical unit attended to the injured. Cooks Wrecker Service of Walnut Ridge was requested to the scene with a rollback to remove the damaged motorcycle.
The injured were transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, the names of the injured and extent of injuries is not known at this time. The accident is being investigated by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
