At 7:35 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a semi truck and pickup truck collided north of Ravenden with the southbound semi coming to a stop at Anderson and 63. Firefighters checked on the semi driver and continued north along with the Ravenden Police looking for the second vehicle involved in the accident, the accident was called in by the semi driver who stated the pickup stopped briefly but then left the scene of the accident.

Ravenden Police continued north into Sharp County in an effort to located the driver of the north bound pickup truck. The driver of the semi was uninjured and the second vehicle was located in Sharp County at the Flash Market just south of Hardy. Hardy Police detained the vehicle until Ravenden Police could arrive.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Ravenden Police Department in the investigation of the accident. The driver of the second vehicle was reported to not be injured.
