At 2:32 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident on Hwy 25 just outside Lynn new the New Buckaroo. Initial reports stated multiple injuries, Lynn Fire Department, AET Ambulance, Medic One and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were requested to the scene. Initial reports indicated the vehicle had struck a bridge, these reports were confirmed after Lynn Incident Command on scene request the Highway Department to be notified of damage.
At 2:38 pm, Lynn Rescue 1 was in route to the scene, as firefighters arrived they discovered 3 occupants injured in the accident including a small child that was thought to have been unrestrained in the accident. A medical helicopter was requested to start towards the scene, once the first ambulance was on scene was at 2:50 pm a determination was made to transport the three to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. At 3 pm the ambulance was in route to Lawrence Memorial as firefighters closed Hwy 25 for a short period, traffic was a safety concern. The medical helicopter was cancelled.
Dail’s Wrecker Service was requested to the scene to remove the vehicle, the accident is being investigated by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office. No names or conditions of the patients have been released at this time.
