Shortly before 4 am on Friday, Lawrence County Deputies stopped a vehicle on Lawrence 635 for a traffic violation. As the deputy was speaking to the man he noticed the individual was acting nervous. The LCSO Deputy asked the man if he had anything illegal in the vehicle after running a criminal history and discovering the suspect was a felon with past drug charges. As the suspect consented to a search, the deputy discovered two weapons in the vehicle, one a rifle behind a seat and the other a pistol in the front seat of the vehicle, both loaded.
As the deputy continued the investigation he discovered the pistol was stolen. The suspect, Jimmy Tribble of Hoxie was placed under arrest by the deputy and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing and be given a court date. Tribble was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
Bond was set at $5000 and an April 11th court date was set.
