Sloan-Hendrix made the trip to Mtn. Home, Oct 15, and came away with 3 medalist. Logan McCain continued his strong running to finish 2nd and not far behind him was Tyler Murphy in 10th place. Each running their personal best (PB) on the year. In other Jr Boys action, Hunter Stallings 29th, Jordan Dail 30th (PB), and Raymond Bailey 38th (PB). As a team, the Jr Boys finished 3rd behind Harrison and West Plains, MO. “The Jr Boys as a team have really improved this year and have a great chance in the next few years to make some noise at the State Meet. I am excited and hopefully they make the transition to the 5K distance successfully and make a run at a state title in a few years.” stated Coach Grisham.
In Jr. Girls, Maddyson Lamb pace the Hounds with a 45th place finish followed by Brenda McCain 46th, Haley Meeks 53rd, and Courtney Winston 57th.
Jessie Powell put in her stongest run of the year and medaled in 14th place in the Sr. Girls division. She was followed by Ashlyn Hayes 42nd and Hannah Griffin 48th, who both ran personal best times.
In Sr. Boys action Nathan DeShazo ran his personal best to pace the Hounds and finished 67th. The 7th – 8th graders concluded their season at Mtn. Home, but the 9th grade moved up to Sr. High and traveled to Hot Springs in preparing for the upcoming State Meet in Hot Springs. “We traveled to Hot Springs to let the kids get familiar with the state course and they ran some very good times in gaining confidence that they can run even better on November 9 at state.” Logan McCain ran a 19:26, Ben Small 20:13 PB, Tyler Murphy 20:15, Zach Anderson 20:27 PB, Kierce Due 24:12, Tyler Lepard 24:41 PB, Christian Capps 24:41 PB, and Colby Johnson 25:27. In Sr. Girls, Jessie Powell ran a 24:02, Brenda McCain 25:11, Ashlyn Hayes 26:51 PB, Courtney Winston 27:17, Hannah Griffin 28:15 PB, and Ashley Chavez 29:57.
The Greyhounds conclude their season at the A/2A State Meet on November 9.
