According to Sheriff Jody Dotson, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a call from family members of a Steven Leon Hooks concerned of his whereabouts on Friday. According to family members, Mr. Hooks had not been seen or heard from since October 11th.
Hooks last known address was 2364 Highway 349, Jonesboro AR. He is described as 5’10†Brown Eyes, shaved head. DOB 10-13-1962. Hooks was driving a 2001 Black Ford Taurus with Black aftermarket wheels.
Family members had been looking for the missing man and stated to Sheriff Dotson that his vehicle had a tracking device installed by the car dealership and according to the dealership it was supposed to be in the Alicia area of Lawrence County. The family stated that was all the information they had at this time. Deputies contacted the dealership and explained the situation, the GPS tracking showed the vehicle was in the area of Lawrence 745 at the back of a farm field. Sheriff Dotson sent several deputies to the area, within minutes the vehicle was located. According to Dotson, the vehicle was locked up and did not appear to be disabled. The farm owner was notified and asked if knew the whereabouts of the owner, he did not. Investigators from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office were brought it to process the vehicle, nothing suspicious was found. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Deputies also searched the area surrounding the vehicle, nothing was turned up during that search.
