Beatles Park in downtown Walnut Ridge will be the site for an outdoor concert Friday evening from 6:30-8:30.
Nashville singer/songwriter Melody Guy will headline the event, which is being coordinated by her friend, fellow musician and Walnut Ridge alderman, Jeff Taylor.
Taylor and other special guests will open for Guy, who is currently touring in support of her ninth album, which will be available for purchase.
The two met while both were playing country music fairs and various venues in and around Portland, Ore.
“Melody Guy is entertainment at it finest, you will certainly enjoy her show,†Taylor said.
Taylor also has an extensive history in music, having performed for over 20 years with his band, “Jeff and The Revolvers.â€
He said he hopes this is one of many events he will be able to help with in downtown Walnut Ridge.
“Hopefully, we will have a great turnout and we will be able to continue to bring quality talent from Memphis and Nashville and also support our own local talent,†he said.
Admission to the event is free, and those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
