(Walnut Ridge, Ark.) – KISS tribute band Exciter will headline the second annual Rockabilly Run in Lawrence County on Saturday, June 22. The poker run for motorcyclists will culminate with music and other activities at Beatles Park in downtown Walnut Ridge.
Exciter has been performing as a band since 1995. The group does both classic hits and newer songs from KISS, and it includes many aspects of an actual KISS concert. Exciter also adds pyrotechnics and theatrical elements to its show, including super hero characters like those in comic books. Its performance starts at 6 p.m.
Also featured will be the band Fallen Within at 4:30 p.m., and the opening act will be Hairy Larry and George at 3 p.m.
The entertainment is open to the public, and it is free of charge.
The run begins at Cox Powersports on Highway 63, with registration starting at 9 a.m. The first bike out will be at 10 a.m., and the last bike in will be 3 p.m. The ride fee is $20 per hand, and $5 for each additional hand. Prizes will be awarded for best and worst hand.
In addition, there will be a grand prize drawing for four days at a resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The winner will also have a choice of a free helicopter ride or a free round of golf. Each motorcycle entering the run will receive one ticket for the grand prize drawing.
The Rockabilly Run is presented by Car Today in Jonesboro, and it is sponsored by the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Walnut Ridge and Rumblin’ Around the Ridge.
